Congregational History

Pastor Paul Schladeraff began work as a mission developer in the St. Joseph area on October 1, 1982 and served until 1988.

On January 17, 1983, the first worship service was held at Kennedy Elementary School.

On November 6, 1983, the congregation was officially organized with 62 families.

In July, 1987, ground was broken for a new church building.

On November 26th, 1987 the first worship service was held at the new church at 610 County Road 2

On September 17th, 1989 Pastor Martha Halls was installed as pastor of RLC. She served Resurrection from 1989 through 1994

Pastor Dwaine Bruns began his ministry at Resurrection in August of 1995 and retired in June of 2016.

On September 15th, 1999 Sandy Spiczka was hired on as the Youth and family Ministry Coordinator and served until September 2016.

On May 1st, 2002 ground breaking was held for the Sunday School addition. The addition was dedicated on October 13th , 2002.

On August 13th, 2003 Resurrection began participating in the seminary internship program and hosted seminary interns through 2008. We were honored to host interns Greg Anderson, Darlene Grega, Bobbie Bell, David Parker and Ingrid Hamilton.

Associate Pastor Linda Lagergren began her service in August of 2005 until June of 2015 when she accepted a position at Shalom Hills Farm.

In the spring of 2015 Resurrection began a construction phase that included a commercial kitchen, larger fellowship space, designated youth room, additional storage and an adult meeting room.
