Welcome to Resurrection Lutheran’s Campus Ministry!
The goal of campus ministry is to encourage and walk along side of college students as they continue to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. College is an time for learning new things and growing but also has challenges. The hope of our campus ministry is that we can help to meet the needs of students. All are welcome to be a part of this ministry no matter their denominational background. At the same time this ministry does try to meet the needs of Protestant students who attend the College of St. Benedict’s (CSB) and St. John’s University (SJU).
We get together to worship together, to rejoice in God’s grace, to have fun, to learn from God and each other, and to serve God by helping our neighbors. We rejoice in being accepted as we are, we support one another in attempting to live grace-filled lives, and we invite you to join in whatever activities you can. We have a movie night each month, which includes a free meal and some time for discussion. The next Dinner & a Movie is Sunday, April 28 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the church.
*WORSHIP- Students are welcomed to worship at Resurrection at the 8:30 or 11:00 services. They are encouraged to be a part of adult education and some have also helped lead Sunday School. Transportation to and from is available to the 11:00 service. Students can meet behind Mary Commons near the campus security office on St. Ben’s campus.
* INVOLVMENT AT RESURRECTION- Students are encouraged to be involved in the life of Resurrection. That may be through sharing their gifts of music on a Sunday morning, volunteering to help with a youth event, attending one of the quilting or knitting groups that meet, or they may come up with a creative idea for a ministry and do it. Last year two students were hired to help care for children in the nursery. There are many opportunities to work with youth so let us know if that is one of your passions.
*INVOLVEMENT ON CAMPUS- Both CSB and SJU have campus ministry programs and we encourage students to attend their activities.
*BIBLE STUDY- Every Wednesday at 2:40 p.m. in the Reflection Center of Campus Ministry at CSB. Study began Fall Semester 2009 with the book of Galatians an continues with the book of Esther. All are welcome to join at any time.
*SERVING YOUR NEIGHBOR - Students are encouraged to get involved in service. One opportunity that we had last year was to help with the Habitat for Humanity house that was built in St. Joseph.
